Jewel Changi Airport

Jewel Changi Airport is an iconic mixed-use complex, featuring a stunning glass and steel façade fronting Changi Airport’s Terminal 1. It was opened on 17 April 2019.

Jewel has five storeys above ground and five basement storeys, covering a total gross floor area of 135,700 square metres. It offers both residents and international visitors a multi-faceted experience that includes attractions, unique shopping and dining concepts, as well as airport and accommodation facilities.

One of the key features is the 40m-high Jewel Rain Vortex located at the centre of the complex. It transforms into an enchanting light and sound show every night at 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, with an additional show at 10:00 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One of Jewel’s centrepiece attractions is the Shiseido Forest Valley, a huge four-storey landscape filled with thousands of trees and plants.

Canopy Park

Underscoring the theme of exploration is an eclectic mix of one-of-a-kind play attractions, gardens and dining outlets at the Canopy Park, located at the topmost level of Jewel. It promises a gamut of experiences for visitors to Jewel and travellers at Changi Airport.

  • Bouncing Net & Walking Net: The world’s first nets created on such a scale in an indoor environment. The Bouncing Net provides the thrill of being almost weightless as visitors bounce to their heart's content along the 250m-long net. At the Walking Net, visitors can walk over a 25m-high void.

  • Discovery Slides: The Discovery Slides is specially designed to be both a magnificent art sculpture as well as a playground for enjoyment. The 6.5m-high platform that overlooks the Shiseido Forest Valley is the highest point of Jewel.
  • Canopy Bridge: Visitors have an excellent vantage point to enjoy the Jewel Rain Vortex from the 50m long Mastercard® Canopy Bridge, which suspends 23m above ground and has a glass panel flooring in the centre portion of the bridge for visitors to look through to Level 1 of Jewel.
  • Foggy Bowls: The wonders of nature are brought indoors at the Foggy Bowls. The area has four gentle concave bowls with depths ranging from 30 to 65cm with an element of mist to create the experience of playing among clouds.

Changi Experience Studio

A first-of-its-kind in Singapore, the Changi Experience Studio was conceived and designed to be a space that tells interesting stories of Changi Airport in a way that brings wonder and delight to both adults and children alike. With a collection of over 20 different touchpoints and 10 zones, the Changi Experience Studio uses technology to present a diverse mix of unique experiences under one roof.

Each touchpoint tells a different slice of the Changi Airport story. Exploration of the studio is primarily done with the Travel Guide - a personal interactive device that accompanies every visitor on their journey through the studio. Visitors are treated to a series of interactive games, projection storytelling, immersive shows and gallery exhibits. The Amazing Runway mimics the heart-pumping Changi Airport Race - the exciting runway race between a Porsche 911 GT3 Carrera Cup car and a Boeing 747 aircraft, which was held back in 2009.
