The Delhi Airport is spread over 5,106 acres in Delhi and is surrounded by Delhi NCR. To make your travel to the airport easy and efficient, have a look at the different ways you can reach the airport.
The Delhi IGI Airport is located in Palam, Delhi, which is 15 km southwest of the New Delhi Railway Station and around 16 km from the centre of New Delhi. It is easily accessible from all sections of the capital via the different modes of transport.
The Delhi IGI Airport is a significant destination for IndiGo, along with a few others. We operate more than150 flights between Delhi and other key locations in India and abroad. The 3 terminals, Terminal 1, 2, and 3, are separately located and connected via cab/shuttle bus.
This terminal is exclusively for budgeted domestic airlines, including IndiGo. There used to be two separate buildings, but now there is Terminal 1D which has expanded halls and a capacity of holding 30 million passengers and staff.
Recently revamped Terminal 2 of Indira Gandhi international airport is home to the low-cost carriers, including IndiGo. IndiGo operates about one-third of its domestic flights from this terminal. The terminal has many key features to provide a hassle-free experience to flyers, including adequate check-in counters, X-ray machines, baggage reclaim belts, and aerobridges.
All flights numbered from 6E 2000 to 6E 2999 will depart from and arrive at Terminal 2. Shuttle services are available connecting the international and domestic terminals. And for passengers from Terminal 1 concourses, complimentary golf cart services are available.
Terminal 3 is the terminal that handles all international flights and some domestic flights. It is a two tier building, spread over 20 acres with separate floors for arrival and departure. The airport has 168 check-in counters, 78 aerobridges at 48 contact stands, 95 immigration counters, and 15 X-ray screening areas.
