Domestic

Note: Passengers can book pre-paid excess baggage up to 1 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight via our website or call centre.

#Please note that if the payment is to be made in any other currency than Indian Rupee, the fee(s) will be calculated as per the conversion rate prevalent at the time of payment.

Terms and Conditions for purchasing prepaid excess baggage for International Connecting Flights:

• Excess baggage should to be booked at least 6 hours before the scheduled departure.
• The domestic flight should be within 48 hours of your international flight or 48 hours after completion of institutional quarantine.
• Passengers should produce relevant international travel documents or institutional quarantine release certificate, respectively, at the time of check-in failing which IndiGo will charge excess baggage as per applicable airport rates.

International

For an International flight, change and cancellation can be done up to 4 hours prior to scheduled departure. Please note that no-show charges will be applicable 0-4 hours prior to scheduled departure.

Travel Assistance (International - Inbound)

Travel with us seamless even while you have excess baggage. Customers can book pre-paid excess Baggage allowance and pre-paid additional piece allowance (subject to a maximum of 2 pieces) up to one 1 hour prior to the scheduled departure of their domestic flight and 2 hour prior to the scheduled departure of their International flight, on the Website or through IndiGo’s call centre.

Check-in Baggage: Allowance of 20kg/ 25 kg/ 30 kg is applicable per person (2 piece only, not exceeding more than 32Kgs per baggage), basis the sector and for Kathmandu (1 piece only). For Double or Triple seat bookings, extra 10 kg baggage allowance. Additional charges may apply for excess baggage.

Hand Baggage: One up to 7 kg and 115 cm (L+W+H), shall be allowed per customer. For contactless travel, we recommend placing it under the seat in front of you on board.

Additional Piece(s):Charges at the airport – Additional pieces of baggage will be chargeable at a rate of INR 2000 per piece. Additional charges may apply for excess baggage at the airport.

Pre-booking charges: Additional pieces of baggage can be pre-booked online (subject to a maximum of up to only 2 pieces) at a charge of INR 1900 per piece

Codeshare

*An unbundled service as per Air Transport Circular 02 of 2016 issued by DGCA. These are optional services available at an additional charge for convenience of our passenger. Booking of the ticket can be made without opting /availing these unbundled services.

Checked-in Baggage

1. Allowance of check-in baggage will be displayed at the time of making the booking. To know more.
2. Checked-in Baggage allowance for 6E*/TK (IN-US) flights: 
   • IndiGo allows free Checked-in Baggage up to 2 (two) pieces each weighing not more than 23kgs per person/Customer for its Economy Class flights operating to US markets (i.e., New York City, Boston, Chicago, Washington) under Codeshare arrangement. In case, such single (1) piece weighs above 23 kg per person/Customer, IndiGo will levy Excess Baggage charges as set out under point no. (iii) below. 
   • In case, a Customer/passenger wish to travel with more than 2 (two) piece of Checked-in Baggage, IndiGo will levy an “Additional Piece” charges as set out in the table in point no. (iii) below.
3. Excess baggage charges for passengers travelling on 6E Marketed and TK Operated (IN-US) flights:  IndiGo will levy a per piece excess baggage charge for each Additional Piece of Checked-in Baggage as mentioned in table below:

    

   Additional Piece Charges	USD 250 (Two-Fifty Dollars only)
   **Overweight Charges for Baggage weighing between 23-32 kg.	USD 80 (Eighty Dollars only)

    

**IndiGo does not permit any single (1) piece of Checked-in Baggage weighing more than 32 kg. To carry any such Baggage, Additional Piece Charges along with Overweight Charges will be levied on the Checked-in Baggage.
