Oman Visa Guide

Visa Requirements: Visa required.

Visa Issuance:

• E-visas can be obtained before departure at https://evisa.rop.gov.om/
• Nationals of India with a visa issued by Australia, Canada, Japan, USA, United Kingdom or a Schengen Member State , valid for the period of intended stay, can obtain a visa on arrival for a maximum stay of 14 days. They must have a return/onward ticket, a hotel reservation confirmation and a health insurance. This also applies to accompanying spouse and children younger than 18 years. 
• Royal Oman Police – Directorate General of Airport Security decided to stop all types of visas for Bangladeshi nationals coming to the Sultanate of Oman, including the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC ) resident visa holder. Only passengers holding a valid visa to the Sultanate of Oman will be allowed to enter.
• Within the framework of regulating the mechanism for granting visas to citizens of Sudanese nationality residing in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries who wish to visit the Sultanate of Oman, Sudanese passenger are not allowed to board the plane unless they have a valid visa issued by the General Department of Passports and Civil Status in the Sultanate of Oman.
• Information 1:Visa on arrival fee must be paid in local currency (OMR) or by credit card.
• Passengers with a "Visa Deposit Receipt" can obtain a visa on arrival.

• Royal Oman Police Immigration, it has been decided to temporarily suspend the issuance of all types of new visas for citizens of certain African nations (please refer to the Attached list).
  
  
  
• Additionally, the entry of residents of GCC countries, regardless of profession, through border entry points will also be prohibited, except for those under private sponsorship. These individuals must enter and depart accompanied by their sponsor.

Additional Information:

• Valid visas in a full or invalidated travel document are accepted if accompanied by a new travel document of the same nationality.
• TWOV (Transit Without Visa): Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 Hours. The connecting flight must be booked on the same ticket. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination.

Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused entry. 

Information 1: Exempt are holders of: Employment Visa, Family Joining/Family Residence Visa, Student Resident Visa, Investor Resident Visa.

Document Validity: Passports and other documents accepted for entry must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival date.

Additional Information: Passports must be machine readable to enter and transit.

Those who wish to visit Oman can apply for a tourist visa. Under this visa, there are two different Oman visas for Indians. First, the tourist visit visa 10D (26A) which allows a stay up to ten days and is valid for one month; and the second is the tourist visit visa 30D (26B) which allows a stay of up to 30 days.

• Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of departure

Tourist visa validity

For both the 10-day and 30-day visa, the validity period is up to three months from the date of issue.

Stay duration of the tourist visa

Once you arrive in Oman, visitors having a 10-day Oman tourist visa can stay for a maximum of 10 days, and those with a 30-day Oman visa can stay for a maximum of 30 days.

Processing time for tourist visas

The processing time for an Oman tourist visa may take four to five working days, except for Friday, Saturday, and national holidays observed in Oman. But remember, the process may take longer if the information provided by you is not correct. 

For business purposes, visitors need to apply for an Oman business visa. This visa allows a person to enter the country to work; in which case they have to be sponsored by a local company in Oman. Once you get the business visa, a person needs to use it within a three-month period.

• An invitation letter from the company/reason for the business visa
• Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of departure
• You must have proof of accommodation

Business visa validity

The validity of an Oman business visa is for up to six months, from the date of issue. 

Stay duration of business visa

Once you arrive in Oman, visitors holding a business visa can stay for a maximum of three months.

Processing time for business visa

The processing time for an Oman visa may take four to five working days. offices are closed on Friday, Saturday, and national holidays observed in Oman. But remember, the process may take longer if the information provided by you is not correct.

The students coming to Oman to study are granted a student visa.  Based on the duration of your course, you will be provided with the visa type. Generally, a student visa is valid for one to two years from the date of entry.

• You must have an Indian passport
• Your confirmed return ticket
• An invitation letter from the university or school in Oman
• Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of departure
• You must have proof of accommodation

Student visa validity

The student visa is valid for six months after it is issued. However, the duration also depends on your course.

Stay duration of student visa

A student visa for Oman can be valid for up to two years, depending on the duration of the course.

Processing time for a student visa

The processing time for an Oman student visa may take four to five working days, except for Friday, Saturday, and national holidays in Oman. But remember, the process may take longer if the information provided by you is not correct.
