    How do I book a flight on IndiGo?

    • IndiGo delivers a hassle-free experience when booking flights, with new and revolutionary ways to book that suit your lifestyle and your needs. 
      IndiGo bookings and payments can be made:

      • On the IndiGo Website: www.goindigo.in
      • On the IndiGo Mobile App
      • By contacting the 24/7 IndiGo Call Centre: +91 124 4973838 or +91 124 6173838.
      • At any IndiGo Airport Counter
      • At participating Travel Agencies

      IndiGo offers a hold and pay facility for Customers who either do not have credit cards or need to make payment later. Customers can visit www.goindigo.in to make a Booking and hold it for 6 hours or up till 72 hours before the scheduled flight departure time, whichever is earlier. Alternatively, customers can contact IndiGo call centre to make a Booking and hold it for 24 hours or up till 72 hours before the scheduled flight departure time, whichever is earlier. During the hold period, Customers need to confirm the Booking by making a payment on www.goindigo.in or by paying in cash at one of our hold and pay agents, which also include IndiGo airport counters and Travel Partners who act as fulfilment centres for IndiGo. Please note that Customers can hold a Booking for a period of 6 hours or up till 72 hours before the scheduled flight departure time, whichever is earlier, if booked through www.goindigo.in or 24 hours if booked through call centre, from the time they make the Booking and this hold and pay facility is not available for travel that commences within the next 48 hours from the time of making the Booking. In consideration of providing the hold and pay facility, the IndiGo fulfilment centres will collect charges at the rate of 2% on the base fare and surcharges (as applicable). 

      For avoidance of doubt, the time gap between the Booking which has been put on hold by a Customer there must be a time gap of 72 hours between the date of Booking and the date of travel.

    • The rules and conditions of the booking depend on the fare type and are mentioned in the fare rules. In certain select cases (for example, certain corporate houses etc.), IndiGo offers special fares and certain special privileges on those fares, at the time of making the booking (“Special Fares”). These Special Fares have terms and conditions attached to them. In the event that the booking is made on the Special Fares, except to the extent specified otherwise in the terms and conditions governing the Special Fares, the conditions of carriage of IndiGo shall apply in its entirety   In the event of a conflict between a provision contained herein and in the terms and conditions attached to the Special Fares, the provision as contained in the latter shall prevail and take precedence. 

      Our fares are refundable, subject to the change or cancellation rules. 

      To secure the best price, it is recommended that you book well in advance of travel dates. 

      All IndiGo fares are quoted in Indian Rupees (Rs or INR). IndiGo fares apply only for carriage from the airport at the point of origin to the airport at the point of destination. Fares do not include ground transport service between airports and between airports and town terminals. 

      Fares and schedules are subject to change without notice. IndiGo's schedule is also subject to regulatory authority approvals. Once purchased, your fare will not change; provided, however, that if you request a subsequent change in the booking or routing, revised fares may be applicable. 

      Customers traveling with IndiGo are required to agree to terms and conditions that are available on goindigo.in or on request at our Airport Counters.

Customers may pay via MasterCard, American Express and VISA credit/debit cards and Net Banking. Cash and credit cards are accepted at Airports, participating Travel Agents and IndiGo Shops. IndiGo does not accept personal cheques.

    • IndiGo's preferred method of contact is via mobile phone and it is mandatory to provide your mobile number at the time of flight booking. Customers can provide a residence or business phone number and valid e-mail ID as additional contact information. Providing IndiGo with your best contact number(s) will help us make contacting you easier.

    • While you will be able to print your itinerary and confirmation number, it is important to note that IndiGo is a ticket-less airline. The itinerary you print is not a ticket, and it does not constitute a contract of carriage. The booking in IndiGo's database is the primary record of carriage, and your confirmation number is your proof of payment. In the event of any differences between the itinerary and the booking in IndiGo's database, the database booking will be the reference point and shall prevail.

    • IndiGo bookings are not transferable. If someone other than the customer attempts to travel or to obtain a refund in connection with the booking, IndiGo shall not be liable to the customer so entitled if in good faith it provides carriage or makes a refund to the person presenting the itinerary.

    • No, IndiGo does not offer wait-listed or standby seats. IndiGo's commitment to serve you with an efficient and precise service results in providing you with a confirmed seat on all IndiGo flights.

    • IndiGo offers discounts to families, serving and retired Armed Forces personnel and their families, Paramilitary Forces personnel and their families and Senior Citizens, subject to specific terms and conditions.

  • What special services does IndiGo offer?

    • IndiGo offers special services for Unaccompanied Minors, Infants and Wheelchair Customers. Such Customers are required to mention the requirement of these services at the time of making the booking. IndiGo reserves the right to deny these services to Customers if not requested in advance.
      Any customer who require medical assistance or stretchers are required to complete the IndiGo Medical Information Form which can be found in the Information Centre.

    • Since these services are not used by everybody, IndiGo charges specific fees to customers using special services only.

    • To ensure availability, these special service requests should be reserved and paid for in advance of travel, via IndiGo Call Centre.

    • A customer under 2 years of age is classified as an infant. Proof of age is required so please have the infant's valid photo-ID available for inspection

    • For safety reasons, infants under the age of 2 years (“Infants”), as of the last date of travel on the itinerary, cannot travel in their own seat and must be seated in an adult's lap. Infants not occupying a seat are subject to a charge per Sector as shown below which is non-refundable and inclusive of PSF and Service Tax.

      • A maximum of one Infant is allowed per adult. 
      • No baby/car seats or push chairs are allowed in the aircraft cabin.  
      • No extra seats may be booked for Infants, and Infants do not qualify for a free Baggage allowance.  
      • Proof of age is required, so please have the Infant's valid photo-ID available for inspection. 
      • IndiGo reserves the right to cancel any booking where a child is attempting to travel as an infant.
    • A seat is not required for the outward flight as the infant is under 2 years. However for the return flight the infant is now 2 years of age and will be classified as a child requiring a seat.

    • The age restriction for unaccompanied minors is between 5 and 11 years. Customers 12 years of age and above are considered as adults.  An unaccompanied minor form must be completed, which can be accessed from the help menu (4 copies) and carried by the child. A parent or guardian must drop off the minor customer at the airport and remain until flight departure; and a parent or guardian must be ready to receive the minor upon arrival. This service is available for a charge as shown in below grid.

    • In case of normal pregnancies, expectant mothers till the end of 32 weeks of pregnancy may be permitted to fly on IndiGo flights provided there are no prior complications. Certificate(s) from the treating obstetrician is required stating the number of weeks the pregnancy has advanced and that the passenger is fit to travel by air. Passengers are required to fill an indemnity bond at the airport before the flight.

    • IndiGo does not permit the carriage of pets or animals on its aircraft. Guide dogs for blind customers are exempt from this rule and must be booked via IndiGo Call Centre.

    • All foreign nationals travelling to Imphal only are required to carry a Protected Area Permit, issued by the Home Department of Manipur after getting the approval from Ministry of Home, Govt of India. The Permit also specifies the passport number and duration of stay in the stated city. As per the Govt of India directive IndiGo is entitled to deny boarding rights to any Foreign National in the absence of a valid Protected Area Permit and the entire amount would be forfeited.

  • Can I change the name, sector, date and time on my booking?

    • Changes to your name, your origin of travel, and/or your destination of travel are not permitted. 

      Changes to the date or time can be made by contacting IndiGo no later than 2 hours before the scheduled departure time for travel within India and 4 hours before the scheduled departure for international travel. You can make changes by contacting IndiGo Call Centre, IndiGo Airport Counters, goindigo.in or through IndiGo Shops, or participating Travel Agents who made the original booking. Changes will result in a fee depending on fare type, and varies for domestic and international flights. The fee will be per customer plus any difference in the fare between the original fare paid and the fare for the revised booking. For reservation processed in currencies other than INR, equivalent charges will be levied.

      All fees and surcharges are carried across to the new booking. Depending on the changes requested, additional surcharges or fees may apply.

      If the difference in fare, less applicable fees, results in a credit to you, then you shall receive a credit for travel on IndiGo that will remain valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue.

      In the event you choose to opt for a refund, the form of refund will match the form of original payment.

    • If the difference in fare, less applicable fees, results in a credit to you, then you will receive depending upon what you opt for - refund on your card used for booking or credit for travel on IndiGo that will remain valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue.
