Durgapur is an industrial city in West Bengal. It is a well-planned city, by two American architects, Joseph Allen Stein and Benjamin Polk. Durgapur is nicknamed the Ruhr of Bengal because of the rich deposits of minerals which makes the area industrially significant. Durgapur Steel Plant is one of the most important industrial units in the city and contributes greatly to the economy.   • Deul Park: Situated along the banks of the Ajoy River, Deul Park is a scenic place for tourism in Durgapur. The lush green natural setting of the pace makes for a very relaxing visit. An 800-year old temple is situated in the park, which is a great attraction.
